CPS Technician Recertification Resources
Technician Recertification is required every 2 years and includes:
- Continuing education credits
- Car seat check verification from a local CPS Instructor or Proxy
- Community education
North Carolina CEU opportunities
- There are many opportunities for Technicians and Instructors to earn CEUs needed for recertification. The Safe Kids Certification website provides information on CEU opportunities available online.
- In addition, there are a number of in-person opportunities for CEUs in North Carolina including:
Skills Evaluation/Seat sign-offs
- Technicians are encouraged to work with Instructors and Technician Proxies in their area on a regular basis. A list of current North Carolina Instructors and Proxies can be found on the NC CPS Instructors and Proxies page.
Recertification Fee Scholarships
- Safe Kids North Carolina has a limited number of recertification fee scholarships available for CPS Technicians and Instructors who need assistance with this cost. Applications will be processed in the order that they are received. Click here for the application.
